I have been working at Federal Government full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Supporting the folks that secure our freedom. The stability and benefits are better than average. A pension after 20 years of service is virtually unheard of in the private sector.

    Cons

No one is very interested in saving money, but the current fiscal environment may be a catalyst for change. A committment to continous process improvement is absent.

    Advice to Management

Adopt private sector business practices and embrace during more for less. Pay for performance is not to be despised, but use to attract and keep the best people.
