I have been working at Federal Reserve Bank (NY) full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

No pressure as long as you're willing to go along with the program.

    Cons

Miss the forest for the trees. Supervisory group consisting mostly of generally amateur financial professionals, if that. Institution driven by meaningless bureaucratic process that adds little value to its purported safety and soundness mandate, no notion of accountability at the institutional level leading to repeated failures in its purported mission.

    Advice to Management

The analogy that comes to mind when thinking of the Fed is that of the Wizard of Oz: the great and powerful Fed is nothing but an aging, toothless old circus performer. Stop pretending you're independent of the industry and just admit that you're fully captured by it, tasked to obfuscate and protect its interests.

    Pros

Prestigious Name due to the Great work done by the bank on a Macro Economic scale.

    Cons

Slightly outdated in terms of Technology and Processes. More of an Old school structure with Officers and Non-Officers even in technology units.

    Advice to Management

Technology divisions are better if operated in a different way than the way the Core business of the bank is carried out. The same structures that apply in other areas of the bank may be suitable.
