No really, it's true: you don't know everything.

    Pros

Professional environment. Good training opportunities, benefits, and time off. Prestigious organization; very good on your resume. Work opportunities (based on your position) may allow travel to the 12 district Reserve Banks throughout the country.

    Cons

Not many cons; overall very satisfied. Job satisfaction varies from department to department, as does the quality of the IT systems; but this can be the case in many orgs. Culture is long standing, so changes are slow going or impossible. If you like it, you like it; if you don't, don't expect things to change.

    Advice to Management

I don't have any specific advice to management. Prospective employees need to keep in mind that this is a government agency, so the culture is deeply ingrained.

    Pros

The job offers excellent benefits, a flexible work schedule, and optional telecommuting options. Job security is also extremely high with this arm of government.

    Cons

As with any government agency, there are times when things and projects get slowed down by red tape and bureaucracy.

    Advice to Management

Management should guide some of the younger managers so that they are more effective at their jobs. It seems that the managers that seem to have highly effective units and projects are the older managers who don't seem to be intimidated or worried that they might lose their jobs.
