Pros

Decent salary. Reasonable/normal hours (this seems dependent on group though from what you see in other reviews). Hybrid workplace (though lots of ambiguity on pragmatics of it coming out of Covid). Most people are pleasant

Cons

No additional compensation beyond base and bonus (no profit sharing like at many companies). Health insurance is horrendous , Obamacare probably cheaper - whoever heard of $1600 IN-network deductible?! Other benefits are lacking or not communicated - no charitable contributions match (seemingly), no summer Fridays, no company store. Little to no privacy in office (though the cubicles are better than full-on open space) while there are empty offices and people in offices are loud and very distractive. Why not allocate the space better? Complete lack of management/training/guidance and unqualified individuals lead to a tolerance of ambiguity and mediocrity. Seems like a place where there's no incentive to improve things (so why would one do so?) A place to coast. Yet at the same time, there seems to be a sense of pressure to be perfect. The connection between those seemingly contradictory statements is hearing of incidents where people were yelled at (not necessarily let go). There is certainly other unprofessional behavior I have witnessed firsthand - disrespectful, paternalistic behavior totally dismissed as just the way it is, even passed off as an amusing idiosyncratic way. There does seem to be an element of who you know, not what you know. There is also not only no cohesion amongst groups but tension and even hostility, which has even been stated as if it's ok. Other reviews have mentioned these things. The fact that it's a private company must account for these conditions but they must come to the realization that there are standards and norms - both in terms of processes and behavior - that people will demand and you will lose the battle for competition by not looking outward. An additional issue with being private is you can't find much financial info on them but I was totally surprised upon arriving that some of their positions are not as you would want in order to be conducive to being exposed to good work for one's development. Seriously have to at least have some questions about some of their acquisitions; at a minimum, maybe they need to communicate the business case as to why things are not as they seem on their face. There was reason to be concerned about all of this before joining but assumed the best and perhaps none of this was mentioned beforehand because it might play into concerns.

Pros

Great products. Good holiday schedule. Pretty good work-life balance. Base compensation and bonus pretty good. Stability (little to no layoffs)

Cons

Bad management. No perks whatsoever beyond base and bonus - no profit sharing, not even matching charitable contributions. 401(k) company match is low. Favoritism, unequal workload and resource distribution, and major accountability issues. Transparency issues.
