I have been working at Fidelity Investments full-time (Less than a year)

Pros

Paid study time for series 7 is a huge pro
Young atmosphere
Currently hiring and promoting people quickly
Great campus
Great benefits

Cons

Pay could be higher
Might be hard to promote out of the call center
performance is based on customer surveys that do not reflect performance accurate

Advice to Management

Management is a little too hit or miss. Sort of like a professor in college, certain managers wish to develop your career as best as possible and others only care about having their team get the best customer survey's (so they can get paid a higher bonus).

I worked at Fidelity Investments full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Fidelity has good benefits package and there are opportunities for growth for well qualified and competent, talented associates. The company has a strong set of core values.

    Cons

Fidelity can be slow to move and recognize industry trends and seems to be stuck in the old mentality that someday Magellan will rise again. Senior management seems to be willing to spend money even when an opportunity has little market value.

    Advice to Management

Stick to the core investment management business and learn from competitors the need to move more quickly into other products (e.g. ETFs), improve the level of client service on phones (improve quality of hires of client facing teams).
