I worked at Fidelity Investments full-time (More than 3 years)

Pros

People move around a lot so there are plenty of chances for opportunities.

Cons

The managers tend to micro-manage a lot. The managers will do anything to get ahead even if that means making others look bad. The employees are treated like a commodity, meaning if you cannot do it I will have no trouble finding a replacement. Employees tend to be paid below market value.

Advice to Management

Start teaching managers to value their employees. This includes less mirco-managing, more training, better pay, and more flexible schedules.

I have been working at Fidelity Investments full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Good benefits, intelligent employees and entrepreneurial spirit for a large company.

    Cons

Moving company to many areas of the country that are not appealing to current employees.

    Advice to Management

Greater transparency for lower level relocations. Incentives aren't as good for the lower levels and they make up the majority of the positions required to relocate.

I worked at Fidelity Investments full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Great training - paid training.

    Cons

Call center body mill with 24 hour coverage - you will work nights, weekends, holidays. However, there will be differential and overtime pay to partially compensate.

    Advice to Management

Give employees with religious reasons preferential time off on their religious sabbath - consider religious reasons for shift preferences over and above that of the sporting enthusiast.
