I have been working at Fidelity Investments full-time

    Pros

    - Great benefits
    - Good learning experience in the financial services industry
    - Leave work at work..no stress when out of work

    Cons

    - Sit in a cube all day..constant grind
    - Prepare to be attatched to a phone all the time besides 2 measly 15 min breaks and a lunch
    - Glorified customer service
    - Managers for the most part are self appointed by who the upper managers "like" and shouldnt be managers...everything is delegated like this from upper management, down
    - Forced to work OT because they don't hire enough people

    Advice to Management

Realize the work environment the front line serves and try to make things easier. Pay should be more for the repition we face.

I worked at Fidelity Investments full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Benefits, great training, company gets you up to speed fast, helps attain licenses. Can pay for further schooling. This is a great job to enter right out of college. The pay is good enough. Just get out of it as quick as you can, as it beats you down once the aura of the new job wears off.

    Cons

You are responsible for the whole office even though you typically are the least experience person in the office. It's a great way to learn, but also a great way to have employees above you dislike you if you make a mistake. The position can be quite demeaning as you order lunches for associates above you and will be treated like a secretary on numerous occasions throughout the week. You are ordered around more so than any other employee in the office. You are responsible for the whole office, but all the other employees are responsible just for themselves so you can get pulled many ways at once to keep people happy and of course, this typically will not help you be happy.

    Advice to Management

Each branch should have a Branch Service Manager in charge of the branch operations as a whole. It's not fair to have the sales reps and BOM depending on an FR to take care of all back office operations when the FR is typically the least experienced rep in the office. This can create a lot of conflict in the branch.
