I worked at Fidelity Investments full-time (More than a year)

Pros

Extremely competitive pay and benefits. Paid training. Company actually practices what they preach when they say they balance employees, clients, and the firm.

Cons

Working for a large corp means sometimes your interests can get lost in the infrastructure, but its easy to get lost at any big company. Fidelity goes a long way to try and make you comfortable.

Advice to Management

None.

I have been working at Fidelity Investments full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Fidelity is actually a bunch of smaller companies. If you're in FIMT or one of the trading companies, you're going to have amazing benefits, great pay, even free Cokes, Izze's, and cappuccinos in the break rooms. If you have a good manager, the sky could be the limit when it comes to advancement and opportunities. They do generally take very good care of their people.

    Cons

If you're not in FIMT or one of the trading companies, you wear the badge, but don't necessarily have the good pay or benefits, and you can expect to pay dearly at the cafeteria. Fidelity's companies are VERY siloed, so if you want to advance from one group to another and don't know someone there, or your manager doesn't have strong connections, you are actually at a disadvantage to outsiders trying for the same position. If you aren't under a good, well-connected manager, expect to slave at your current role forever.

    Advice to Management

Keep working on opportunities to break down the silos and please make sure you're training your people well. It's very frustrating to be in charge of things you haven't been trained for yet.
