    Pros

Some great people have gone through the doors at Fidelity. Fidelity has traditionally invested heavily in technology and smart people.

    Cons

Unfortunately the company is relocating its IT jobs out of Boston and loosing its talent base and domain knowledge in the process. The company is currently focused on cost cutting and outsourcing rather than talent retention. A large inventory of legacy applications is a drag on innovation and its IT budget. More cost effective products from competitors, such as ETFs, threatening their business model.

    Advice to Management

Go back to your roots and talent base in Boston that put Fidelity on the map. The company needs to get into new products fast by aquisitions rather than in-house development. Fidelity is very late into many areas the company wants to move toward while their competitors are already well established in those markets.
