I worked at Fidelity Investments full-time (More than 10 years)

Pros

Great career opportunities, training encouraged, generous 401k and other savings vehicles, ability to work in many aspects of the business.

Cons

Your job may move out of state. Great if you are looking to relocate on the company dime, otherwise you hit the pavement. Downsizing in Boston.

I worked at Fidelity Investments full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    brand recognition
comprehensive benefits at a competitive price
offices all over the country so great for relocation

    Cons

    many levels of management
    political
takes a very long time to complete projects due to management, outsourcing to India, problems with technology

    Advice to Management

Encourage people to be candid rather than "yes men"
We are losing brokerage business because it takes Fidelity too long to get the technology up to speed

I worked at Fidelity Investments full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great brand, very smart folks to work with, lots of exposure to multiple kinds of work if you're good and willing to put in the effort, mobility within the company is very good, lots of internal training available, growth potential is huge

    Cons

Very political space and typical big organization environment. Don't be surprised by people claiming credit for your work, not have enough time to do career development with your boss, or having limited rewards for your work. Consensus building is huge at Fidelity which is both a positive and a negative.

    Advice to Management

Folks at the top have little idea who actually creates the creative work. There are so many innovative ideas that either get dropped, ignored or watered down due to design-by-committee.
