    Approves of CEO

I worked at Fintrac full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Young vibrant workforce, visionary leadership (husband-wife team President-CEO), very strong belief in their mission to improve the lives of farmers and agricultural value-chains around the world. For some, the Caribbean-based home office is fabulous!

    Cons

The bright young employees tend to burn out from lack of movement and the resulting brain drain is a real shame. The open office space in the USVI office is mostly distinguished by its high noise levels, lack of privacy and surfeit of both digital and human distractions. The President doesn't realize how toxic her energy can be at times - leaving the staff unproductive, often for long periods.

    Advice to Management

They are doing so much right, focusing on correcting the open office issue (decades of research have confirmed that open-plan offices are generally associated with greater employee stress, poorer co-worker relations and reduced satisfaction with the physical environment) and the uneven nature of the management responses to uncomfortable issues would improve this organization significantly.

  2. "Good experience, difficult time"

I worked at Fintrac (More than a year)

    Pros

Competitive skill building with lots of resources available to try new things

    Cons

It was an awkward time for the company--rapid expansion and then a lull in contracts. Management was struggling with it and passed these frustrations on to employees.

    Advice to Management

Managers could use training in being effective team leaders/supporters.
