I worked at Firehouse Subs part-time (More than a year)

Pros

Owner was very nice and was always willing to help if i needed it. The work environment was very pleasant and I always enjoyed going in to work. The work hours were flexible as i was able to set my own hours, which was helpful being that i was a full time student.

I worked at Firehouse Subs full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Ok salary, Free Food, Shift leaders, Culture. I was promoted from entry level position to general manager in 18 months.

    Cons

Senior management feels as though shift leaders are more imoprtant than general managers. Minimum 50 hour work week requirement.
Budget restraints are ridiculous sometimes (i.e. you have to have three shift leaders and have to have 7 employees working during lunch, yet they lower your labor budget)
System is inefficient compared with Subway. (need more employees to run the same sales)

    Advice to Management

Understand that managers need time off and a healthy work/personal life balance. Its ok if a manager works 60 hours one week and 40 the next, sometimes they need to run errands.

I worked at Firehouse Subs part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Firehouse is a good company to work for if your a teenager looking to make money over the summer or something. It doesn't take long to get used to everything bcus it's really easy to learn all the stuff

    Cons

Working with annoying people can completely ruin your experience. People always tend to push tasks around to others, and the managers and shift leders are lazy as hell and put all the stress on you while they sit back and just watch from the backroom. They make you do things their way only and forbid you to do it any other way even if its faster an more convenient. It's so easy to get written up here, especially at the store I worked at. And finally, the pay sucked! Raises are but a myth

    Advice to Management

Learn how to work as a team! Not counting on one person to do all of the work. And increase the benefits there, bcus that'll eventually attract more workers willing to work harder.
