Disapproves of CEO

Pros

Summer fridays and the ability to telecommute. Understanding VP--knows his craft. OT available if willing to work the hours.

Cons

Short sighted micro-management and rampant favoritism. More time fixing non-problems than focusing on client demands.

Advice to Management

Merit based, not tenure based. Wrong people in the wrong jobs.

I have been working at First Advantage full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

A large portion of US is home based employees, great if you're somewhere else and want to work for them.

Implemented a new "employee first" pillar, meaning it's now acceptable to ask for training. Management claiming this will lead to advancement opportunities.

    Typical health benefits are available

    Cons

IT is in a perpetual "do more with no funding" state. The same key people are required for every project, and there's a battle to get the funding to fix the issues that you're being beat up for allowing to continue. IT funding is based on last year's revenue, not the expansion that is required for next year's growth.

Travel funding seems to be limited to senior managers (who are always on the road), so you'll never meet your team mates.

401K match and bonuses are paid out six months after the year ends, and only if you're still here. Makes it hard to collect on last year's work if you're looking to leave.

    Advice to Management

come up with a real five-year plan and stick to it with stable management for at least three years.

Decide which market(s) you want to excel at and concentrate there. Every country has different requirements and trying to do them all spreads development too thin.
