    Disapproves of CEO

    Pros

Easy, flexible time off. Department managers are generally great hard working individuals who care about staff, nice hours- free evenings, holidays and weekends off.

    Cons

There is room for advancement, as in more work for not much, if any, of a raise. The only people who do well are executives on the top floor and there's only a few of them. CEO walks by daily and won't say hello unless you do first. Many branch managers are constantly stressed and overwhelmed by demands of executives above them.

    Advice to Management

Listen to employees. Don't bribe employees to do extra work for a prize, and then give them a goodie bag filled with old candy and merchandise the company has had for 10 years. Remember that while members are important, so are employees and I'll tell you that most of them shake their heads and roll their eyes at executives. What does that tell you? And consider not acting like a bank. The sales goals and incentives are starting to annoy members who just want to make deposits. There are MANY companies who pay better attention to their employees, take notes from them and the turnover rate would be a bit lower.

I worked at First Credit Union (Arizona) full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Basically the only pro about working here is the mon-fri schedule.

    Cons

I could go on forever. Really I could. Finally straw details in my "advice to management".

    Advice to Management

If you are finally going to realize you need to pay your new employees a higher starting wage for them to stick around, you should also not forget the employees who have put up with the bs for a hand full of years. STARTING someone with 1 year of experience at another credit union at a dollar more an hour than someone with almost 5 years experience at YOUR credit union is disgusting.

Also, dont be so proud of the 2% "pension" you offer employees. If you paid your employees a fair wage, they would be taking home at least that 2% in each paycheck.
