Pros

Flex time; You can find the Smartest & most professional work force in industry; Management tries its best to keep all the employees informed about the changes that may affect staff well ahead of time.

Cons

No recogniztion for hardworking people. Would be a good place if you want a "stable" job. Note that your salary would be stable as well, without any pay raises. But, new hires will be getting lot more than a long-standing employee even with less than half of skillset.

Advice to Management

Hard-working and dedicated staff needs to be rewarded with enough pay raises to keep them motivated.

    Pros

Relatively stable - you can stay in the same position for years with the same pay, salary was pretty good for the area,

    Cons

Management does not really care about employees, a lot of negativity, not much opportunity for growth or advancement

    Advice to Management

Make employees feel somewhat valued and give them opportunities to grow and learn, and they will do amazing things for you.

    Pros

Good Stock options and financial retirement plans. Free portfolio management. Free lunch once a week. Free coffee, tea and sodas. Great internal website. Good quarterly Company Webinars on the state of the company. There are pockets of friendly helpful people. There is a company-wide suggestions box program where suggestions are sent to the the central office regularly. There are Back to school, Christmas and Halloween donation box programs for the less fortunate. There is an annual "anonymous" online questionnaire on employee satisfaction.

    Cons

Expensive healthcare package to be paid by the employee. Visits from upper management mostly contained smiles that were only teeth baring. HR department is under staffed and over worked and sometimes uninformed. Depending on the division, there is no upward career mobility. There are personal fiefdoms where the members discourage training new members and who refuse to share information unless ordered to by upper management in order to make themselves indispensable. There is no friendly sharing company community despite the semblance of it on their internal website.

    Advice to Management

Stop letting local leadership require non-anonymous questionnaire of employee satisfaction from employees following the company one. It threatens the employees and does not present an accurate view of employee satisfaction. Allow the employee to take the vacation time rather than cash him/her out at the end of the year for unused vacation time. It is not the employees fault if schedules did not allow the employee to get vacation time approved.
