I worked at FleishmanHillard full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Opportunity to work with important clients
    - Benefit of a large agency network with international resources
    - Agency name looks good on resume

    Cons

    - Senior management plays favorites
    - Experience greatly varies depending on client teams and direct manager
    - Work/life balance does not exist. Staff is expected to work at any and all times with no respect given to personal or holiday obligations.
    - Company doesn't fulfill staff development, mentoring, coaching promises to mid-level staff

    Advice to Management

Senior management in some of the practice areas needs a thorough evaluation of how they treat and develop mid to junior level staff. Some senior managers are permitted to act beyond the bounds of normal business behavior simply because they bring in client business. Senior management should re-evaluate how mid and junior level staff is mentored and treated.

I worked at FleishmanHillard full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Great culture as a company with an edge for attracting and maintaining talent. Competitive salaries with attention to work-home balance. Great place to get your "feet wet" in the PR world and an excellent place to plant your roots and grow with the firm.

    Cons

Long hours, especially for entry-level, but if you are looking at the bigger picture, it's a great place to gain a host of experience and knowledge with some of the best professionals in their fields.
