I worked at FleishmanHillard full-time

Pros

Smart colleagues, big name clients, strong name and work experience for those specializing in PR, FH always looks solid on a resume, offices around the world, one can learn a lot about the big agency biz at FH

Cons

In the past FH had an antiquated mgmt approach with too much hierarchy interfering with true collaboration, some serious over billing issues in the past (well publicized), many employees lack quantitative business acumen

I worked at FleishmanHillard full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    - Positive relationships with some colleagues
    - Provides exposure to larger clients
    - Good "boot camp" for the agency world

    Cons

    - Highly political, negative, and generally unpleasant working environment
    - Lower salaries than you'd expect from one of the world's largest PR firms
    - Shortsighted leadership, especially in the creative/digital space

    Advice to Management

Understand that attitude and enthusiasm for good quality work starts at the top.

I worked at FleishmanHillard as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

I learned a lot about all aspects of the industry while working there and the upper level executives were willing to meet with you.

    Cons

I rarely was paid for overtime hours I worked and I worked late a lot. I was expected to work 40-50 hours a week, but only allowed to work 35 as an intern. I was often the first person to leave the office if I left at 6:30 or 7. There was rarely helpful feedback on projects or assignments and short, snappy responses to emails and requests were the norm. They offer internship extensions where you work another 4 months as an intern, but rarely hire anyone even after 8 months.

    Advice to Management

Take more time to train the interns if you want something done a certain way. Do not offer overtime in the job description, but turn around and say never to go over the allocated hours. I was expected to work 40-50 hours a week, but only allowed to work 35 as an intern.
