Pros

Location, location, location. Close to the lake, from what I've heard better than City VW to work at.
If you are worth the money they will pay you well.
Mostly great people, very diverse.

Cons

You will not get a raise without a fight.
Home of the "That's why tool boxes have wheels" managment philosophy.
If you were to walk through and ask anyone there, they would tell you to stay away.
401k contributions cut, from what I've heard no raises in 2 years.
Management puts short term gains ahead of building a loyal customer base.

Advice to Management

Pay attention to employee concerns, genuinely. Hold employees accountable for their actions and performance. Maintain SOME level of integrity and honesty in your shop. It's extremely dfficult for an honest tech to maintain both his honesty and his sanity workinhg next to a scammer.

    Pros

    Flexability in time off given, shop atmosphere and employees are good to work around. Shop is taking steps forward to better the work enviornment, such as installing better lighting, new lifts, and shop tool boxes which saves technicians money on buying their own tool boxes.

    Cons

    Some middle management issues with communication involving shop issues, politics between techs and management when it comes to promotions and raises, no set system of performance reviews and discipline for work place errors is handed out in no clear manner regardless of what had happened and how many complaints.

    Advice to Management

    Middle management should better communicate problems within shop between techs and GM to solve problems. Also to set up anual performance reviews and a set disciplin system to deal with customer come backs and technician errors in repair/diagnosis of cars
