Negative Outlook

I have been working at Follett full-time (More than 3 years)

Pros

-Excellent ongoing technology initiatives
-Fantastic support network for outside sales force
-Good benefits and time off
-No evenings or weekend work
-Lots of recognition programs

Cons

-Compensation could be higher to more in line with similar outside sales
-Comission process far too subjective in determining final payouts
-Very limited advancement opportunity

Advice to Management

Be more receptive to the innovation and suggestions of the account executives that are in the field day in and day out in order to improve results and morale.

I have been working at Follett full-time

    Pros

Friendly work environment, most of the people I work with are great.

    Cons

Pay is terrible; during rush it can be extremely overwhelming. Dealing with customers can be horrible at times as they blame the bookstore because of high prices. The pay is extremely poor especially for the amount of work that needs to be put in the bookstore before every rush. Some managers (mostly upper management) do not have any compassion whatsoever. Company "values" associates yet compensation does little to prove that.

    Advice to Management

Pay definitely needs to be improved.
