More demand to deliver new software solutions, but little investment into core legacy systems running the company. Continued talk about investing in backbone systems with no action with continued cuts have left the systems dated and at very high risk for catastrophic events. Foolish spending on outsource and offshoring have delivered very little and just made other “partner” companies rich while leaving Ford core systems at high risk. There’s still hope, but the continued talk needs to stop and start investing to rebuild existing revenue generating and backbone systems. Business case is simple - don’t invest in your backbone systems and things will break causing major impacts or limit future projects from being effective.
