The uniform was pretty much really lax, you were able to wear a lot to self express. The discount was increased after Simon bought F21. Before it was a measly 10% and you weren’t able to apply it to markdowns or promotions. So after Simon bought it, they realized that employees are your first customers in order to sell F21 product and that immensely worked because their employees would buy so much. Their clothes are good, somewhat affordable
Cons
- management makes hostile work environment due to high school level of thinking. Makes a lot of drama - when I first started, I started at a point where it was the norm to have $10/hr and then management had to resort to increasing starting pay due to people rejecting the lower offer, but never increased pay for current employees. You had to beg for it and then management would be offended - gaslighting and guilt is the norm - store manager made up new rules for uniform, such as no longer being able to wear zip up hoodies, which limited many people to being able to warm themselves up with if they get cold - the demographic of customers forced a lot of young employees to become LP as well as sales associates, which is out of their pay grade - no sense of rotation of roles, so if you’re good at something, they will make sure to burn you out at those roles. If you’re a fitting room attendant, that’s unfortunate. - no motivation of moving up because management is toxic - the amount of getting people to sign up for the F21 credit card is what determines your hours, so you were able to get just 10 hours per week if you didn’t get anything - visual team is non existent, so if you’re looking for a position there, don’t. They will have you on the floor as well, as a lead or exploiting you of your skills when they need you to - stock team is non existent as well, if you’re looking for a position there. They eradicated the entire concept of stock manager and team when the company did a restructure change - company has opened up hiring minors, so if you’re an adult closing, be prepared for most of the team to leave you alone to pick up the store since the minors have to leave early. - the amount of years within the company can get you to certain roles but management will not appreciate you but instead look at you as a burden yet will count on you as always being able to do a project if they’re busy - closing is terrible, if you’re in a big store because you could still be cleaning up 2-3 hours after closing hours. For a small store, about 1 hour if you’re quick. - you’re expected as a sales associate to clean the store as well, since the company cannot afford an actual cleaning person - no store rewards for employees, managers have to pay with their own money for stuff to get incentives for employees to continue going above and beyond. - if you have certain days of availability, prepare yourselves to be guilted into changing them because your cool managers need you
