Disapproves of CEO

I have been working at FormFactor full-time (More than 5 years)

Pros

Independence and flexibility to work, opportunity to be involved in multiple areas, lot on learning in a quick time and more challenges

Cons

Good work not always gets credit, politics and finger pointing increased over years, used to have many good people, but mostly have left, talking skills dominate over actual output in career growth. Too many layoffs and company not making profit for last 5 years

Advice to Management

Need better focus of goals from management and better channeling of efforts and appreciate good work on merit basis. The bureaucracy needs to be reduced. Business model needs to be reassessed.

I worked at FormFactor full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great location for those living out in East Bay/Tri-Valley, nice area. Lots of good people but most have already left.

    Cons

The company is permanently in downsizing mode. Management needs to realize they can't create demand for something that the industry doesn't need. It had a great run but needs to re-size the business, change strategy, go private. The recession really killed this place. Doing more with less. Everyone wears many hats

    Advice to Management

    Take the company private.

I worked at FormFactor full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

One of the few high tech companies in the East Bay. Decent pay and benefits, however these are slowly being taken away due to the company not being profitable. Still some very good folks working there.

    Cons

Poor management - they do not value long term employees and the skills they bring. Company has not been profitable for several years and it is an impact on company morale. There have been about 7 or 8 layoff's in the past 5 years. Jobs are not very secure as the company is always restructuring. Overtime is only paid after 10 hours for manufacturing personnel. Very poor engineering support of the manufacturing line.

    Advice to Management

Too many senior level managers. Layoff's always affect manufacturing and engineering. It would be better to keep the more senior manufacturing people than to bring in new folks and layoff the ones who have helped to build the company.
