I have been working at Forrester full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Though only four months in, it is so evident that collaboration, curiosity, and integrity are engraned in the Forrester culture. The training programs are in-depth and beneficial, and the transparency of the executive team is outstanding (and rare!) I feel empowered to grow not just in my current role, but within the company long-term.

    Cons

Understandably so, it takes quite some time to fully grasp Forrester's solutions. They are complex! Pairing this knowledge along with the strategies and challenges of our clients is not immediately intuitive. If you are a quick learner, know that there will be a bit of a curve -- but that's all part of the fun.

    Advice to Management

Through training, I've enjoyed connecting with employees and departments that I do not normally interact with. I'd love to have more formal opportunities -- trainings, events, workshops -- to do so.

I have been working at Forrester full-time for more than 6 years

    Pros

Forrester has made many significant changes this year that position it to be a much stronger company in the future. Certainly being active on the acquisition front will (I hope) pay dividends as the company expands its offerings and addressable market, and puts more and more distance between it and Gartner. Senior leadership is also starting to get more streamlined and more effective in driving productivity. With recent...

    Cons

'Forrestering' is a time-consuming, and often exhausting, part of the job. The culture is often consensus-based and decisions are slow to come by and can take a tremendous amount of unproductive effort to push forward. Decision rights aren't always clearly understood at various levels of the org, and so things can get messy sometimes. Much of this is due (I believe) to the company still not yet operating with the structure...

    Advice to Management

Invest in middle management. Good or bad managers are a big reason why people are staying or leaving and too often we lose good people because we had a manager that wasn't ready and wasn't able to challenge, engage and motivate our stars.
