I have been working at Four Seasons Health Care full-time (More than a year)

Pros

Excellent rappore with residents, families etc
'can do' attitude from majority of staff.
Good support from some staff with activities but not across the board.

Cons

Communication between the different levels sometimes abit hit and miss.
12hr shifts leave some staff 'lack lustre'.
Some care staff don't recognise importance of PALS role.

Advice to Management

E.learning no subsitute for face to face hands on training.
Shift system seems to be 'one sizes fits all' with person centred approach more flexibility needed.
Long 12hr shifts harder to cover in sickness, annual leave etc
No access to minibus leaves residents at a disadvantage as to where we live.
Consider internet access to enable PALS to do their job more effectively.

    Pros

    The best thing about a job in this company is meeting the residents, listening to their stories and history.

    Cons

    Staff love to talk about other members of staff behind their backs all the time and about the residents too. Senior carers thinking their word is law. Pay is bad for what is needed. Lots and lots of paperwork

    Advice to Management

    Treat members of staff with respect they are due, Listen to and resolve complaints they have promptly and fairly.

    I worked at Four Seasons Health Care full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Individual home staff nice. Good paperwork for care records.

    Cons

    Bullies. Unpleasant management. They are right , you are wrong. Not a team organisation. They tell fibs and cover their own backsides. Will happily drop their home managers in it, and let them take the fall. One ops manager, said, people don't say No to me. My word is law. Utter unprofessional rubbish.

    Advice to Management

    The management are not open and honest. They have their own agenda, and if you face does not fit, you are gone. Internal investigations are structured so the company come out in a best possible light. The are very money minded and tight. Lots of promises about you can have this and that, but it never appears. Morale is low.
