Negative Outlook

I worked at Foxwoods Resort Casino part-time (More than 3 years)

Pros

Free training, uniforms and meals

Coworkers (the majority of them) are friendly and easy to get along with.

Cons

Tribal members gets first dibs on all jobs - be they qualified or not as they would train them (but can't complain too much as they do have a disclaimer that all jobs go to tribal members then Native American preference first)

Working conditions are not that great if you are out on the casino floor as you will have smokers at your table all the time - have not had one day where I could go home and not have to wash my hair daily from all the smoke accumulated in it.

Current Employee - Dealer in Mashantucket, CT

    Pros

Get paid to have fun a d play games. Easy and a ton of breaks. Always know what to expect and when to expect it. Could be the easiest job ever.

    Cons

Too much smoke. Mean people every where. Hard to be excited about never getting advancement. I make as much as people that cant even speak English. Depressing knowing I will never move up.

    Advice to Management

Promote based on education along with other factors. It isn't fair that I get looked over all the time because I am not a long time employee. I have education on my resume!
