    Approves of CEO

I have been working at Freescale Semiconductor full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Better benefits & vacation time than I'm aware of in other companies. New CEO seems like he's got the right attitude / ideas. Still lots of good people around.

    Cons

The fact that I have to add "still" in front of "lots of good people around"... Company strives to pay just enough to keep people from leaving (i.e., competitive but barely). Continues to shrink and have layoffs, leading to a pervasive "hunker down" mood throughout the company, which does not provide incentive to work together. Freescale/Motorola used to be a technology leader but can't really figure out what kind of company it wants to be now.

    Advice to Management

Stop changing. Senior mgt changes frequently, changing direction and giving the rest of us whiplash. Provide some incentive / benefit to cooperation within the company.

    Pros

Good Company, good employees, great benefits.

    Cons

Due to economy, shortage of employees to do work, so others must pick up the slack.
