I worked at Fresh and Easy full-time (More than a year)

Pros

Cool place to work, pretty easy, pays well, good benefits, option for a 401k, paid time off

Cons

Upper management lacks consistency, and this comes all the way down from the corporate offices. Tesco lost money to F&E every year that it was open for a reason, and I would be willing to bet that it is because of the upper and corporate management.

Advice to Management

Learn how to be more consistent and how to talk to your employees like they are actual people.

    I worked at Fresh and Easy part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - flexible work hours, no scheduling from 12Midnight until 4:30AM
    - self-checkout registers don't require constant item scanning and lifting
    - benefits with working 20 hours/week
    - training includes different job duties
    - starting pay for Customer Assistant $10/hour

    Cons

    - too much work to do and not enough time
    - not enough employees on the sales floor
    - no private employee restroom
    - employees have to clean the store and restrooms used by homeless
    - pay raise only $0.40 per year
    - bonus pay very little of not at all
    - wrong scheduling forces employees to call in sick
    - very little employee discount on merchandise
    - self-checkout registers don't work properly making customers upset or angry
    - favoritism of certain employees to get promoted

    Advice to Management

    - better communication between Store Manager, Assistant Manager and Team
    Leaders/Customer Service Assistants
    - more accuracy on employee's availability and PTO requests
    - fair distribution of total work hours for everybody to earn enough to pay the bills
    - scheduling of frequent meetings to get everybody informed about changes within the company
    - being friendly with the hard-working employees while listening to concerns
