I have been working at Friendship Public Charter School full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

It's amazing to go to work everyday with a group of people committed to improving the quality of life and educational outcomes for children. I work with a group of the best teachers and teacher leaders to every join the profession. I am learning a lot and I am appreciated for what I contribute.

    Cons

    The hours can be long.

    Advice to Management

Make sure that prospective employees know that the organization is serious in its expectation that every staff member must come with a "do whatever it takes attitude" to help students achieve. Newcomers who don't get this often have difficulty catching up with the expectations.

    Doesn't Recommend

I worked at Friendship Public Charter School full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

None: Lip service to technology but computers and smart boards were unusable.

    Cons

Lip service to student needs but the real focus is on enrollment. No support. School emphasized short term over the long term.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of management. Focus on the students.
