Pros

Co-workers are friendly and kind. guests are considerate and understanding.

Cons

Micro-managing every part of the job. Frequent changes just for the sake of change. The job is more physically demanding that expected. A fast paced environment and you are expected to be on your feet at all times. Consistently adding tasks and trainings without any pay increases. Justifies the updated workload by saying it's part of the "other duties" mentioned in the application process even if the "other duties" has nothing to do with Libraries like adding Passport services. Management doesn't consider employees' ideas and often fake interest without ever following up. The only holidays you will have off are federal holidays. The majority of City of Frisco employees, including a majority of Library staff, will have 3 day weekends during a holiday weekend, but Library circulation staff will be scheduled to work every weekend whether the Library is closed or not. No opportunities for advancement. When promotion opportunities arrive, internal hires that are more than qualified to be promoted were overlooked for outside hires that had less relevant experience. Overall very unwelcoming management practices that are often veiled as being "in the best interest of the employee" when in reality it is in the best interest of whoever is making the decisions.
