    Pros

As a senior software engineer, Fry has provided me with many opportunities to work large e-commerce clients and continue to learn new technologies. The work is very challenging and interesting. Management is also very understanding and fair.

    Cons

Since Fry is a small company with only a few locations, there are not many opportunities to grow into senior management positions.

    Pros

The people who work at Fry are extremely dedicated. The community is very close-knit and everyone is quite willing to help out where they can. Like any company, there are difficulties between departments, but those difficulties could usually be resolved by approaching the other department and addressing their issues.

    Cons

The company that bought Fry (MICROS, Inc) didn't have a clue what they were buying. They took a company, with a well known name who was competing with the "big boys", and dragged Fry's name through the mud. Their lack of understanding when it came to e-commerce and how it applied in the space was so severely blinded that they only succeeded in making half the workforce leave in Q4 2010.

    Advice to Management

Understand the employees and what makes the company great. Look at the atmosphere and don't try to change everything to match some corporate ideology. Learn why individuals are leaving the company and try to stem the flow of dissatisfied employees rather than tell them "...if you don't like it here, find somewhere else to work - we don't need you" or "you should be happy to have a job".
