Pros

Convenient location in town. Medical and/or dental benefits are about what you would expect for an average company of this size.

Cons

High turnover rate. No talent retention. Not much projected company growth. Dead end positions for some career tracks. Low pay range compared to similar companies in the local region. No recognition for hard work. Under-qualified employees "grandfathered" in to the positions they have now. Too much nepotism. Positions have been made-up in an effort to keep friends employed.

Advice to Management

Focus more on recognizing talent and give credit where it's due. Reduce talent loss. Treat all employees fairly. Instill workplace maturity and professionalism in staff.

    Pros

Work is tolerable, occasionally rewarding. Dental, medical and 401K benefits. Good work/life balance. Company matching on donations made to select few local charities.

    Cons

The "good ol' boy" system is very strong here and very cliquey. The company seems to be at a plateau. It's been around for over couple of decades and has not advanced beyond it's comfort zone. There has also been a high turn-around rate since hired here (too many people coming and going). The different departments are too segregated. Unless you stand up for yourself, discrimination is allowed without question. With the economic downturn, some employees were starting to get treated unfairly and it slowly became a popularity contest not based on work ethic. clan rally's would be set up to "push" certain employees out that don't fit into their social circle. There is a very small town mentality. When times are tough, be ready to get another job.

    Advice to Management

Truly treat people as the most important asset of the company. Take the time to instill in leaders the importance of communicating with staff and treating all employees with respect. This way you finally get to keep the good/competent employees. Replace the "high school" with professionals and the company will go far.

    Pros

There is nothing much to provide in this section. On the business side, they are relatively okay. As far as how employees are treated: They are very good at reinacting grade school. Excellent at prejudging and slandering certain groups of people in order to protect themselves.

    Cons

Unprofessional behavior is tolerated to the point of becoming close to a legal issue with employees. HR casts a blind eye. The work culture needs improvement.

    Advice to Management

Perhaps more training on professionalism in the workplace would be helpful. Focus on treating employees as human beings. Keep discrimination to a minimum.
