Approves of CEO

I worked at GE Healthcare full-time (More than 5 years)

Pros

-Great opportunities to move through different functions and business units
- Good work life balance (it's what you make of it)
- Opportunity to interact with executives

Cons

- Very bureaucratic organization
- Don't always pay what you're worth, because it's GE
- Great brand reputation throughout the world

Advice to Management

Try not to overload the "superstars." Be more open to rewards and recognition of employees doing great things.

I have been working at GE Healthcare full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Well known solid company that is not likely to go under in this economy.
Salary is good, but below average.
    Benefits are good, but declining.
Good place to use as a spring board if you are just beginning your career, but don't plan to stay too long. Good resume' builder.

    Cons

No work life balance although they bombard you with work life balance tips and information you can't apply. Pay is below industry standards, bonuses have gone away, insurance has gone up, coverage has gone down. Expectation is a 60-70+hr work week. Constantly reorganizing management and reporting structure. Internal IT systems are archaic causing multiple duplications of work. Be prepared to work long hard hours without the tools you need and to spend hours duplicating your work and obtaining the tools you need. Burned out employees who are doing more with less every day.

    Advice to Management

Too much lip service and too little application. Look at middle management, make changes, find a course, and stay the course instead of being in a constant state of change. Show your employees that you really do care about them by rewarding them.

I worked at GE Healthcare as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great experience working in the medical device industry
Great people to work with at EA plant especially

    Cons

After not receiving offer for EEDP, not clear on why I was not offered the position
Waukesha location is "stuffy" for my taste, too much politics
Quality was impossible to get through
