I worked at GE Healthcare full-time (More than 5 years)

Pros

-If you can survive beyond 2 years you have done well
-You'll be prepared for anything once you leave
-Friendly and entrepreneurial spirit
-Great training
-Good Values

Cons

-Everyone's an entrepreneur and creative
-Self-agenda driven (hence former comment)
-No continuity to strategy as either people don't survive past 2 years or you move on to something else and let the new entrepreneur create his/her agenda
-If it was the moon then everyone would have a flag and try to place it there
-High turnover of leadership leaving everyone and strategy twisting in the wind until the next bright idea
-Not sure what HR does
-Too much process and gatekeeping at every step (to a categorical level most other companies dealt with in 1990s)
-Everyone leaves for the same reason regardless of department

Advice to Management

-Keep your strategy sustainable and consistent
-Beware of over-promoting people to leadership who are not leaders
-Just because it's on a PowerPoint does mean it's true
-Try to see beyond each quarter with long-term view
-Sort yourself out internally
-Too much process that can be automated

I worked at GE Healthcare as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

Great atmosphere in the Milan division, experienced top management and lot of learning opportunities. Responsibilities and autonomy from the beginning, willingness to implement new ideas.

    Cons

Lack of long-term vision, low investments on young graduates, no proactivity to thrive process innovation and too high pressure on short-term results.

    Advice to Management

There should be more focus on best practice share within the Company, inter-business and inter-countries.
