I worked at GNC full-time (More than 3 years)

Pros

Great training on all levels,GNC has a great portal system,Product knowledge taught by manufacturer's reps as well. I left there knowing so much about Health,Sports,& Nutrition.

Cons

They are quick to dismiss employees including store management for questionable reasons. No consistency in H.R. policies.Corporate H.R. should be more involved and do quarterly visits.

Advice to Management

Look to employee retention especially if the circumstances aren't blatant. There should be another step in the disciplinary process which is true suspension, then if there's another offense or something blatant terminate. Please take care of your employees so they may also "Live Well"

I worked at GNC full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Friendly customer's
    Flexible schedule
    good discount
    training
    free samples sometimes

    Cons

    Ridiculous sales goals,
    Lack of corporate support,
    outdated POS,
    stupid commission structure.

    Advice to Management

Get upper management that has actually WORKED in a GNC store, instead of hiring RSD's from Sears and Payless. Realize that KPI's, P3's, OMS and Multi sales number's are ridiculous for the amount of foot traffic in some stores. Follow up on your lazy SM's and SSM's about updating stock and order's. STOP WITH THE A,B,C,D ratings for stores, I was in a B store with an A store customer flow and not enough hours to keep our store maintained. Also, some stores are dilapidated and broken down. RSD's should be REQUIRED to do a morning message and MANAGER's should be the only one's on conference calls. Store's get no monetary backing to purchase things to help keep a store running. Help desk is a joke and so is calling the 800 number for customer service. GNC deliver's process is lengthily and confusing. and average dollar should be thrown out the window. Have you people forgotten why you're in the health and nutrition business?

    Decent hours.
    Flexible schedule

    Cons

Qorking at a slower mall store=less commission.

    Advice to Management

Reward good, loyal employees. Be more consistent in hiring competent Store managers.
