No opinion of CEO

I have been working at GNC part-time (More than 3 years)

Pros

Employee discounts, flexible scheduling, incentive pay add-ons

Cons

Very pushy management on boosting sales. Made fantastic sales and when management saw they would tell you how it could have been better. I understand it affects his bottom line but a little more acknowledgement of a job well done would be appreciated.

Advice to Management

We all know turnover is high. Address that and the company will save a lot of money!

I have been working at GNC part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Commission structure benefits associates.
Most managers flexible and willing to work around your schedule.
Not hard to advance in the company should you desire.
Great lateral movement from store to store; designed to help part time associates accrue as many hours as possible.
Great discount and monthly employee goodies should you be interested.

    Cons

Minimum wage. Don't expect more than this part time, because you won't get it.
Some of the management needs to look the part; you work for a health/wellness company, it helps your credibility when you aren't morbidly obese.
Selling tactics taught by upper management are gray area tactics; borderline lawsuit potential.
Obnoxiously high sales goals in all areas so you have to keep track of what everyone buys all the time throughout your shift, which is challenging if you work in a bigger store.

    Advice to Management

Utilize the strength's of your associates' personalities; don't use cookie cutter sales tactics because one-size doesn't fit all. Also, it would really help go a long way to establish customer relationships if you didn't weigh 350-400 pounds @ 40ish% bodyfat. Look like you take the products and live the lifestyle; customers look at you and go "Wow!". It'll earn more for the store.
