I have been working at GP Strategies full-time (More than a year)

Pros

flexible hours, work at home, mostly caring leadership, salary is great, main headquarters location is fantastic and they have offices all over the country

Cons

The constant state of flux in terms of work load is maddening. I can be without work for days and then overloaded for days after that. Being looked at askew when sitting idle, when I'm at the mercy of our program directors to bring in work, is frustrating as well.

Advice to Management

Work with clients to set reasonable expectations on start times and deliverables. Also, stop over hiring - ramping up for a new project is fine, but it's a constant thing for you to over hire on projects because you're scared of not being able to deliver for the client but it leaves people without work!!

I worked at GP Strategies full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Diversified company, financially sound. Very short term projects so you can move on to another if your current project is painful (and most are).

    Cons

Just your average temporary outsourcing/staffing firm. No products or product focus that distinguishes this company from any others providing billable services. A little disorganized. Weak and risky business model.

    Advice to Management

Spend less time chasing after the small contracts and spend some time to develop a more robust strategy.
