Doesn't Recommend

I worked at GREE International Entertainment as an intern (Less than a year)

Pros

I was lucky to be on a fun and talented team.
 - There are quality people
 - Some good perks, such as food area
 - Working on games millions of people play

Cons

Not all the teams have a good culture, and things can be very disorganized
 - Some employees noticeably seem like they don't want to be there
 - HR can take days (and multiple reminders) to fulfill simple requests

Advice to Management

More autonomy from Japan if it would speed things up.

    Negative Outlook

I worked at GREE International Entertainment full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Some people are fun
    - Catered food everyday
    - Great snacks
    - Cool office
    - Awesome location (SOMA)

    Cons

    - People are incompetent
    - Work is draining because the leaders have no idea what they're doing so they delegate useless, random work to employees
    - No real direction or sense of innovation - all games are based off of the same engines, optimized to squeeze the most amount of money out of helpless users
    - Pay lower level employees below market rates
    - Teams are very divided and cliquey - teams do not communicate with each other

    Advice to Management

Get rid of anyone that is not necessary to the company (excess PMs, marketing, HR), focus on building creative games rather than those silly card battle games that are too Japanese for the American market, grant transparency to all employees, and take employee feedback seriously if you don't want to lose more people

I worked at GREE International Entertainment full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The food is awesomely stocked and the location is great.

    Cons

Everything rest on the decision of its parent company Gree Inc.

    Advice to Management

Doesn't matter because Japanese counterparts will make decisions for you anyways.
