I worked at Gallup part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Great Co-Workers
    Interesting Work
Great Ideas and Concepts-that aren't always applied
    Stresses Life Balance-see above
You can earn tuition payback, very cool program

    Cons

Pay by production doesn't allow for managers pulling you on and off projects. You can literally wind up working for free at times.
Management doesn't have any real respect for you as an interviewer, you are disposable. (they can be kind, which is not the same thing). The "mission" has long since been lost in the hustle. Pressure can be amazingly high for this type of job.

    Advice to Management

Don't be absurd enough to offer a Q12 and then explain that the questions asked need to be "interpreted" differently. You've got to (in the interviewing center) get out there and mix with your workers. You can't bunch up in the management huddle at the ball game and be elitist, or you'll be percieved as clueless and out of touch. Make friends of your interviewers, and respect them, then they'll go above and beyond for you. Don't blow off their meetings or stare at your computer screen through a conversation with them and then expect them to go jump on the GIK grenade for you.

    Pros

The people are some of the smartest anywhere.

    Cons

The people: some of the people designated as managers are still wet behind the ears and don't know the first thing about what it means to manage.
