I have been working at Gannett full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Good benefits package, competitive salary and plenty of opportunity for advancement. Its values have dramatically improved since the spin from TEGNA.

    Cons

Like other newspaper companies, Gannett is fighting the decline to the print newspaper franchise.

Great if you are resilient and adaptive and can have success through change.

    Cons

If you are used to a lot of structure and not okay with change, it might not be good for you.

    Negative Outlook
    No opinion of CEO

    I worked at Gannett full-time

    Pros

None at this time. Layoffs are going on since the merger and will continue beyond what is being communicated in the news. Departments with overlap will be hit, as well as, departments that have not centralized operations in the Gatehouse properties.

    Cons

Management's lack of vision. No work-life balance. Extreme micromanagement. No growth opportunities.

    Advice to Management

Senior Management needs to communicate with the employees who don't have direct reports, because the environment is toxic and with the centralization of so many departments, these employees have no voice or advocates.
