Pros

Great people; dedicated. Good learning experience

Cons

As Gannett moves to become more digital, employees working in print (Community Publishing) continue to do more with less. Wage freezes, furloughs. Depressing work environment.

I worked at Gannett full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Very nice building (cafeteria, gym, parking, Tysons)

    Cons

Morale was at all time low. Senior mgt and Executive mgt truly do not care about the employees. Very short term thinking with resources. No investment into the future and strategic direction changes continually.

    Advice to Management

Do the little things for employees. Care. Listen to staff. Don't just cut cut cut cut.

    I worked at Gannett full-time

    Pros

There are no pros. You are sold in the interview and the job is not what you accept.

    Cons

The hours are non-stop. Salaried employees hours are nickled and dimed. Don't take this job and expect to work close to 40 hours. 50 or more. Vacation time is often denied or not allowed to take previously approved time. Staff is not respected and are of no concern to management. If you are looking for employment and are currently employed - don't leave your current position for this.

    Advice to Management

Start over. The work experience is the worst I have ever heard of in any corporate position.
