I have been working at Gannett full-time (More than 3 years)

Pros

Easy going office with good benefits and great employees. Management ensures you have all necessary info to excel at your position and provide all answers needed for clients.

Cons

Advancement is vary limited with very loose standards for promotion. Promotion also varies on what markets you handle not on quality of work. Disconnect with upper management and ground level workers.

Advice to Management

Set strict guidelines and standards for promotion track to make it more clear how and why you will get promoted.

I worked at Gannett full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Gannett has a reasonable benefits package, and because of the size of the company, many divisions to choose from and many locations.

    Cons

The work-life balance is non-existent, pay is, I believe, above average in the sales jobs, but continue to ask for more and more from employees for less and less. Commissioned positions should offer more flexibility if goals are being met.

    Advice to Management

Treat employees as people, not just numbers on a spreadsheet. Make time to communicate with employees, and you will see better results.
