Pros

- there was a great discount
- you get to meet a lot of really nice people
- high level of training (the company has started a leadership training program for new supervisors and managers that gives them an overview of the company and its values and expectations)
- if you work full-time, the health benefits are definitely superior to a lot of other companies

Cons

- schedule is different from week to week and I've heard that now that employees get their schedules by email, sometimes they don't now what they are working for the next week until the Friday before.
- underpaid in comparison to other companies with the same workload

Advice to Management

Don't hire out of desperation. Make sure that you take the time to find the right people.

Former Employee - Sales Associate in Minneapolis, MN

    Pros

It was a good place for a part-time job while going to school. It was easy to get nice, short shifts before or after class.

    Cons

They do not want to hire part-timers full time. If you are a student worker, you have next to no chance of being promoted.

The promotions I did see happen weren't all that fair -- they were really just people the managers happened to like, or were friends with. There were actually a decent amount of long-time employees, but they were constantly getting their hours cut for no real reason.

I remember one morning I completed markdowns so fast I was sent home early... woo? So you lose money for doing a good job?

    Advice to Management

To give credit where credit is due -- recognize hard workers.

    Pros

    good work life balance
    decent benefits
    decent merch discount

    Cons

RMP program develops elitist attitudes. RMPs tend to get promoted faster.
meritocracy is non existant. promotions are about who you know, not what you do.
