I worked at Gap full-time (More than 5 years)

Pros

Supportive environment, talented people. Work life balance.

Cons

Like any large corporation, the matrixed and hierarchical structure can lead to longer than expected time to get decisions passed. The flipside is you excel at developing patience and recognizing that this is what life all about - being patient and having a positive attitude.

I worked at Gap part-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

-great job for someone who's in school (very flexible scheduling)
    -coworkers are usually great
    -no uniform
    -overall? very chill

    Cons

-it is a retail job, so you get retail employee treatment (not the best pay, customers can get on your nerves somtimes)
-they put a lot of emphasis on getting credit cards to the point that it seems like cashiers are more valued than other employees, especially those who get customers to sign up for cards
-absolutely no challenges (if you don't give up school or personal time to work more hours and possibly become an assistant manager, then you'll remain a lowly associate)
-overall, and eventually, the CONs will outweigh the PROs if you don't wish to make a career there
