I worked at Geek Squad part-time (More than 8 years)

Pros

You get to socialize with customers
You get to fix computers all day and solve difficult problems
Co workers are often times highly skilled with computers so there is lots to talk about.

Cons

The pay is much too low. I worked there for a long time and my pay there did not even come remotely close to what I could make doing the same thing for a corporate IT job. But of all the jobs I worked, it was easily the funnest job I've had.

Advice to Management

Retain the better employees by raising pay.

I have been working at Geek Squad part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Learning about the Windows registry in depth will make you an excellent repair agent. Working with the LiveCD MRI and understanding it works will definitely make growth in the IT field.

    Cons

Best Buy management doesn't understand certain rules and conditions. Often too much work is put on the ARAs and it becomes stressful.

    Advice to Management

Allow only those with certain certifications to work as a DCI or a certain amount of experience in the IT field. Getting a random Best Buy manager as a DCI doesn't work because they don't understand the technical aspect of Geek Squad, which in my opinion is the most important aspect.
