Approves of CEO

I worked at Genentech as an intern (Less than a year)

Pros

Great name and great environment! The experience is invaluable on your resume! Managers allow you to be pretty independent with your project if you show them that you have the initiative and responsibility to carry yourself on your own in the lab.

Cons

Full-time positions are hard to come by but being contracted is a possibility if you make a good impression. Very hard to get an internship without an "in" or previous industry experience though...

I worked at Genentech as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

Lots of room for advancement and mobility around the world. Great benefits including paid sabatical after 6 years. Good people to work with in pretty much every department.

    Cons

Lack of decision making ability can lead to going over decisions once they've been made and generally can be de-motivating to a project team. Large reliance on consultants.

    Advice to Management

Train senior managers in decision making
