I have been working at General Atomics full-time (More than 3 years)

Pros

My coworkers make the day worth starting at this company. If it wasn't for these good people I would dread walking up in the morning.

Cons

The management. This company has the worst management style, structure and management maturity I have been witnessed in 15 years of my professional career. Leadership is not present, nor is questioning an obvious poor decision tolerated in a professional manor. Belittling, degrading and alienating employees is a common theme for directors, managers and senior management including VP's.

Advice to Management

From top to bottom on the management team, learn what a successful manager is and how to encourage employees and help grow the company in the positive way.

I have been working at General Atomics full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good people, great perks, fantastic facility, great history of success, lap pool, gym, tennis, basketball volleyball courts, nice moderately priced cafeteria.

    Cons

The pay, the Review system, the % of annual raise.

    Advice to Management

Bigger raises motivate employees at ALL LEVELS. Anything below the rate of inflation is rude.

I worked at General Atomics full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Interesting place to work, specially for engineers and scientists.

    Cons

Not so good for hourly employees (I was an avionics technician); horrible working conditions on OCONUS deployments, did not warrant the "high pay" which it wasn't.

    Advice to Management

There is no leadership, one of the main reasons the attrition and turnover is so high. Most hourly employees have an escape plan. Seasoned and experienced people leave often, taking all their training and knowledge elsewhere.
