I have been working at General Dynamics Mission Systems full-time (More than 10 years)

Pros

Salary, free parking, Starbucks, Scottsdale location, and a credit union inside the building. There are still a few quality people left to work with, although many have left, and many more are planning to leave.

Cons

Many organizational checks and balances have been removed leading to poor unilateral decisions which result in a shrinking business base and increasing upper management tiers. There is a lack of candor regarding project status to executive management and customers in order to hide the lack of progress and save face. During the ongoing layoffs there are questionable labor practices in terms of selecting people to layoff.

Advice to Management

Hope the new strategy works, or there won't be anything left of C4S.

    Pros

At GDC4S, people are given opportunity to succeed and work with great and talented people. Work conditions are fair and management allows you to own tasks .

    Cons

Benefits were being downsized. New proposals were not as complex systems as they had been. More international customers are needed. Due to USG lack of work, there is a lull in employment and moral.

    Advice to Management

More international customers to offset USG.

I worked at General Dynamics Mission Systems full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Good pay, good technical experience and interesting projects to work on. Able to learn a great deal during my employment there. A fairly good experience.

    Cons

It's OK but if you're older than 45 expect to be let go during layoffs. They don't appreciate their older employees.

    Advice to Management

Appreciate the employees that have been with you for years and decades. By letting us go you are essentially guaranteeing a bad review, and you can be sure that we will tell others.
