I have been working at General Mills full-time (More than a year)

Pros

Opportunity to work with extremely talented people across all functions. Great training ground - company does try hard to bring in external thought leaders. Summer Fridays are great.

Cons

Many AMMs are stretched way too then - the scope of the AMM desk often includes grunt work and project management that does not allow the head space needed to think creatively about driving the business. I would say Marketing is both sink-or-swim and up-or-out - don't expect any degree of hand-holding coming in even though you know nothing about the role.

Advice to Management

understand the longer-term implications of low morale among associate-level marketers

Emphasis on providing valuable training for employees, the people are just awesome - hard-working, sharp, with great personalities, and the products are fun to promote. Giant business but it still feels like a family.

    Cons

Little movement and interaction between departments, locations are not in the most exciting places.
