Pros

Stable environment, strong management, variety of products and projects, great care to the human factor, allows for good work-life balance, people rarely leave General Mills. Strong values and culture. Care for the communities.

Cons

Employee development doesn't seem to be a focus in the past 1 -2 years, not many trainings that may lead to some frustration.

Advice to Management

Focus more on employee development, increase training

I have been working at General Mills full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    Working with great brands
Generally, most folks are less aggressive than in other places

    Cons

HR does not do a very good job at communicating / managing changes
International employees do not have the same opportunities / benefits as USRO folks. Case in point - expatriate packages differ when you're coming from an International market location vs. Minneapolis.
People can be nice but sometimes, you need to read between the lines - can be passive aggressive
The work in International can be mind-numbing: lots of fire-fighting due to lack of people but not enough growth in term of experience
Promotion / career planning in International is non-existent.

    Advice to Management

Please fix your HR policies and your HR team in International - so many people are leaving because of unclear policies, unfriendly / unsympathetic HR team who do not know how to handle people.

    Pros

Standard and strong value based process works for you and it has a very good way of knowledge sharing among different functions

    Cons

Sometimes work is too stereotype and no value addition is being done to that. number game is also started so no fun in working
