I worked at General Mills as an intern (More than a year)

    Pros

Organization was managed extremely well. Company was doing well when I was employed so 401K match was doubled for all. Working environment was light and pleasant, and the workforce had good morale.

    Cons

Factory environment so very rigid work/break structure. Not a negative of the company as much as the career path.

I worked at General Mills as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

It's essentially a brand name to have on your resume. Lots of people there have many years of experience and are very bright. Good learning experience and a good way to discover the "corporate" lifestyle.

    Cons

As a contractor you most likely will not be include in employee meetings, gatherings, emails, etc. Location was in the 'burbs. Has the "Minnesota Nice" atmosphere. Sometimes you feel like another number in a cubicle.
